Every year, we try to offer the community two or three opportunities to meet local artists and view their work. To date, we have shown paintings, watercolors, pastels and more by the following artists: Patrick O'Connor, Judith Wood, Linda Price, Adolph Kazlaukas, Steve Carver, and Wayne Nowack. ![]() ![]() Opening Reception with Sarah Ahearn The Frame Shop invites you to a wine and cheese reception to celebrate the work of artist Sarah Ahearn. Her paintings will be on display from December 5th through early January. The show will include new originals in a variety of sizes and ready-to-frame prints which are perfect for holiday gifts. Ahearn has been following her dream of becoming a full-time artist since graduation cum laude with a B.A. in Art and Psychology from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 1999. She has shown her work in numerous galleries, cafes, and art festivals. A painter from New England, Sarah currently lives in Ithaca where she can be found almost everyday creating in her studio. Sarah's mixed media paintings are layered with found images, fragments of text from old books, and pieces of outdated maps. These ephemera become the fabric and focus of many of her paintings. She especially likes to paint tiny coffee cups, migratory birds, and imaginary flowers. Sarah's paintings have a whimsical feel and she has attracted quite a following since an artist profile was run on her in the recent issue of Cloth, Paper and Scissors. Her work was also selected as a top choice on the popular website Real Simple. For more information on Sarah visit: sarahearn.blogspot.com
