Opening Reception for Artist Trish Coonrod

The Frame Shop invites you to an opening reception for artist Trish Coonrod on Gallery Night, Friday, December 4th, from 5-8 pm. Her show features work done since moving to Ithaca from Manhattan two years ago. The subject matter of her paintings includes people, pets, and flowers. What her paintings have in common is a highly realistic style that comes from close observation of her subjects. Come and meet the artist and enjoy some delectable treats from Just Desserts.

Trish received her BFA from Washington University in St. Louis. Upon graduating she was awarded a residency at the Cite' Internationale Des Arte in Paris. The time spent in Paris allowed her to study directly from the paintings of the old masters, which greatly influence her work. Trish's interest in traditional painting led her to The New York Academy of Art, Graduate School of Figurative Art, where she received her MFA and graduated with honors. Upon graduation Trish took a position in Jeff Koons' studio where she worked as lead painter for eight years. There she had the opportunity to further hone her skills as a representational artist. Some of Mr. Koons' work to which she contributed was exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City and the Boston Museum of Fine Art. Trish has been exhibiting her work for over 20 years. Her work is in collections throughout the United States and two of her portraits are on permanent display at The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra in Rochester, NY.
